There are so many cats and kittens in need of rescue in Bakersfield, but unfortunately we do not have enough foster homes to take them in. Foster care is very rewarding and we pay for all supplies and medical care. If you would be interested in becoming a foster parent please contact BrendaB@TheCatPeople.org.

Volunteers Needed For May 22nd
We need volunteers to help out at the Feral Cat Symposium on May 22nd. Please email BarbaraH@TheCatPeople.org if you are interested! Check out the official flyer by clicking here!
Feral Cat Symposium
The newly formed Feral Cat Coalition, composed of representatives from county non profit organizations, is hosting the very first county Feral Cat symposium on May 22. For the $10.00 registration fee, participants will hear featured speaker Susan from Best Friends, Utah, enjoy a refreshing continental breakfast and lunch and learn all the ends and outs of feral management, including financial resources to keep colonies healthy and under control. This symposium is a must for compassionate feral colony caretakers and all community members who want a humane approach to feral management.. For more information, contact the SPCA , 323-8353 and ask for Sandy. Those of us in the trenches are hoping this will be the start of a better life for ferals in our community.
Links For Life
Our long time donor and adopter, Liberty, has a team for Relay for Life. Her team is holding a rummage sell on March 13th at the Sports Authority on Ming Ave to raise money to help find a cure for cancer. Donations are needed! She needs lightly used items like clothing, furniture, etc. Please call Liberty (661-392-0454) or Stephanie (661-487-8815) if you have anything to donate!
Good News
The Cat People adopted out all 5 puppies and the mama dog. We are so happy that all the pups are in safe, forever homes and not out in the park anymore. Thank you all so much for your support and interest in the puppies story. What a happy ending!
