Volunteers Needed

Our new Petco donated cages at the Rosedale store provides an opportunity for cat lovers to see some of our adoptable cats. We need volunteers to help clean the cages in the AM or PM, so the cats can look their best for potential adopters. If you live in the Rosedale area, have a little morning or evening time to spare, and love cats, email Brenda at brendab@thecatpeople.org for more information.

Two Cats in Need of Home

I recently met a kind lady who is trying to help out a 90+ year old cat owner who is unable to care for her two beloved 7 year old indoor cats. The owner will soon be leaving the area and can not take the cats with her. If you would be willing to take in these cats, we will donate food and litter for their care. Until we get our much-needed sanctuary, we simply have no way of taking in any more rescues. For information, call Karen at 912-2318.

Paws & Claws Benefit Run a Success

The Paws and Claws Benefit Run on October 9th was a great success, thanks to the incredible efforts of Jim Wiggins, organizer or the event; Bikersfield owners, Kelly and Bobby, gracious hosts; and  Scott Quigley, chef extrodinaire, and owner of Quig's BBQ & Catering.  ALPHA and The Cat People volunteers were overwelmed by the generosity and support  shown for our rescues. It's nice to know that even though the media felt the event was unimportant, a few hundred animal loving bikers enjoyed the beer garden, great music and the poker run, all supporting our efforts!
